Can you hear me?
I had a dream. Not a dream about a brand new gadget, not a cool PlayStation and not even a trip abroad like the other kids did. I had a dream only dreamers were brave enough to dream. A day with you.
Can you understand me?
I don’t need much time and all I ask of you is one day. I wondered if you will misunderstand me to be needy and I kept my mouth shut. The thought of being misunderstood is heartbreaking but only with you.
Can you see me?
Chances are I’m completely flawed and I’ve been carried away in my ways, but all I ever needed was your love. As I wait for you to open the door, everything else seems to disappear.
Can you save me?
I’ve been judged and wronged. Could you help me? I’ve been stared down by everybody and not a single hand has ever tried touching me. The pain is unbearable. Can’t you do something?
Can it be over?
I’ve heard your hugs are the best. That’s what everyone says. Why did you leave me when I was the most vulnerable? This life you gave has started to burden me.
Only you can fix it, mother, wherever you are. I wonder if you will ever know me, but all I had was a dream. A day with you.
